Investments and New Business Opportunities
Plastpol is now the second most important event in this sector in Europe. It has long ceased to be just a Polish event and has become a truly international trade fair. Customers from countries such as Lithuania, Ukraine, Serbia, and Estonia took the opportunity to participate. “We sold machines to companies in Germany and Ukraine, where they face a shortage of labor. Our technology meets those needs,” said Jan Muehsam, President of MUEHSAM Industrial Solutions.
Representatives of companies such as Prema, TOYO, Campetella Robotic Centre, Dopak, Ekochem, Mapro Polska, KraussMaffei, Elbi, and Britas confirmed that they held many meaningful business negotiations. New machines – injection molding machines, extruders, blow molding and recycling equipment, depalletizers, and packaging lines – found their buyers. “Several companies planning to expand their product range with new brands made their decisions here at Plastpol. They chose our flagship models,” stated Adam Marciniak, Sales Manager at Engel.
Relationships That Begin Right Here
According to many participants, Plastpol has a unique strength – it brings the right people together. “We had long tried in vain to establish contact with one key company. In the end, they approached us at Plastpol. Thanks to this event, we were able to start concrete negotiations,” described Jacek Leszczyński, Marketing Director at Bole Europe.
Tomasz Jarczewski from LS Mtron added: “Participation in Plastpol offers two key benefits – contacts established here often evolve into actual contracts. Moreover, discussions that began before the fair often find their conclusion here.” The company held promising talks with visitors from Poland, England, Slovakia, and Lithuania.
Interest in Raw Materials – Granulates, Additives, and Regranulates
Interest was not limited to machinery – manufacturers and distributors of raw materials such as natural blends, colorants, additives, and regranulates also presented successfully at Plastpol.
Companies such as Brenntag, Polimarky, Anwil, Plastpolan, LyondellBasell, Begra, Akpol Recykling, Kraiburg TPE, MOL Group, Chinese KINGFA, and Hungarian INNO-COMP confirmed they conducted effective negotiations with new partners. “We received excellent feedback from potential customers who plan to cooperate with us after we open our new factory in Poland,” said Adrian Pietkiewicz from KINGFA. Izabela Kotowicz from Bedeko also evaluated the fair positively: “This year surprised us – we saw strong interest and many new customers.” Among the new potential clients of GM Colours are companies from Lithuania, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. “We had many successful meetings and negotiations with companies from the entire Central European region,” confirmed Krzysztof Nowosielski from ML Polyolefins. Beata Bęben from Azoty Group added that Plastpol provides an excellent platform to understand customer needs and exchange views on the current state of the industry.
Plastics Industry in a Time of Major Change
According to Robert Przybylski from Plastoplan Polska, Plastpol is a place where one can openly discuss the challenges facing the plastics industry – particularly in relation to legislative changes and new European regulations.
Development trends were discussed during a conference by the PlasticsEurope Polska Foundation and at the PLASTECH INFO professional seminar, co-organized by the TWORZYWA.PL portal and the Targi Kielce exhibition center.
As noted by Anna Kozera–Szałkowska, Executive Director of PlasticsEurope Polska, the plastics industry in Europe employs 1.5 million people across nearly 52,000 companies, generating an annual turnover of more than EUR 365 billion. She emphasized that this is a strategic sector, and its competitiveness is crucial for the future of the European economy.
Innovations That Drive the Industry Forward
The most innovative solutions in plastic processing technologies were also awarded at Plastpol. The Platinum Plast competition highlighted technological advancements responding to current market challenges.
In the category "Machinery and Equipment for Plastics Processing," the gold medals were awarded to:
-
EKOCHEM for an intelligent granulation line,
-
Wittmann Battenfeld Polska for the highly integrated Wittmann Smartpower Combimould 120/525H+130V Insider production cell,
-
Campetella Robotic Center for robotic solutions for production automation.
