Polish plastics processor Topsil Global has announced plans to open a new production facility in Skierniewice, Poland. The company’s second plant will process liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and thermoplastic elastomers, including TPE, TPO, TPV and TPU

The Polish business aims to invest more than 10m zloty (€2.4m) in the planned factory, which will have a total floor space of some 5,000m² but could be further expanded by the manufacturer. Topsil Global said it plans to take on at least 50 new workers at the plant.

Construction of the new factory is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. The Skierniewice facility will be located in the Łodzka Special Economic Zone (ŁSSE), which is located about 60 kilometres away from the Polish city of Łódź. The ŁSSE is scheduled to operate until the end of 2020.

The Polish company’s product range includes over 2,000 different extruded and moulded plastic and rubber products, including various kinds of seals, hoses, tubes and other small components. Topsil Global supplies its output to a wide range of manufacturers from the electronics, household appliances, baby care, medical, lighting, automotive and construction sectors. Some of its major clients are Philips and Bosch, according to data from the company.

Topsil Global was set up in 1988 and is based in Żabia Wola, Poland, where the company opened its first production facility. The plant was expanded in 2009, and it is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.
