The success story continues - a strong first half year of 2019 for Polykemi AB

The past four years, the Polykemi Group, that includes Polykemi AB, Rondo Plast AB and Scanfill AB, as well as Polykemi Compounds Kunshan in China and Polykemi Inc. in the United States, has had a volume growth of more than 5000 tons of customized plastic compounds every year. The first two quarters of 2019 show a continued growth at a similar rate. Sweden is the largest market for Polykemi Group with 25 percent of sales volume, the rest is exported to Europe and to the rest of the world.

– We foresee a continued strong second half of the year and a similar, positive trend going forward, continues Mr. Persson.

The Polykemi Group has increased its production volume by more than 20,000 tones over the past four years and continues to deliver larger volumes to the whole world.

Meeting increasing demands for recycled materials

Polykemi AB, with its headquarters in Ystad, has since 1968 been successful in manufacturing high quality customized plastic compounds, based on both virgin plastic raw materials as well as on high quality recycled plastic raw materials.

– Over recent years, the world wide interest for recycled plastic raw materials has increased significantly, not least within the automotive industry, so the Polykemi Group can offer customers a complete concept, explains Mattias Persson.

– We have invested and will continue to do so, all to meet the increased demands from both existing and new customers.

Polykemi Group delivers customer adapted compounds, based both on virgin and recycled plastic raw materials.

In June 2019, Polykemi AB presented the news that the company had invested in yet another state of the art production line; a premium 58mm twin screw extruder from Coperion, equipped with an extensive surrounding equipment. This new line is mainly intended to produce as environmentally friendly flame retardant grades as possible and compounds with a high percentage of reinforcement material. We´ve optimized both quality and quantity and with the immense flexibility of the new product line, it allows us to customize our products with even higher precision to our customers’ demands than before.
