New investments increases the competitive edge!

- Now the facilities have been furtherly increased with an additional 7000 m2 up to totally 11500 m2. With the new investments made, we will more than double our current production capacity of 9 500 ton up to almost 20 000 ton, informs Mr Magnus Lindahl, MD of  Polykemi Compounds China.

Polykemi AB started its operations in China mainly to be able to meet demands of current customers in Europe that increased their operations to also consist the Chinese market.

-  Our concept is to supply exactly the same compounds to our customers in China as we do to our European customers from Polykemi Ystad Sweden. Our end customers here are quite similar to the end customers we do deliver to in Europe from our factory in Ystad Sweden.  The focus is the automotive industry also here, but we do also operate in many other segments and in addition we have been successful in finding all new customers here in China informs Mr Lindahl.

A great celebration -with a human touch!

Polykemis 10-years anniversary in China was a great celebration – with a special human touch.

- No question that it is a major event for any company to celebrate a 10 year anniversary, and especially here in China it is important to be given a chance to show the growth and really to display how big we have become since the establishment ten years ago. Here it is quite important to show your business partners and prospects that you indeed are successful.

- We have also had a very fruitful cooperation with the local government in the province of Kunshan over the 10 years and this is also a very important contribution to our continuous growth underlines Mr Lindahl.

Polykemi China staged a combined 10 year anniversary celebration & a grand opening of the new factory facilities. In total more than 250 guests had honored the invitation.

- The guests were given speeches by the management and from the local government in Kunshan, and then a grand tour of the facilities and finally something really tasty to eat and drink. All in ”state of the art style”, smiles Mr Lindahl.

This was also a great opportunity to inform about the CSR work done by Polykemi China, who are currently funding some children of a school for immigrant workers having difficulties to finance the schooling by themselves. In addition also education in the English language is done in this school. The school really wanted to show their gratitude by being a part of the celebration, and they performed two magnificent shows that was highly appreciated!

Investments for the future!

 The initial factory is 4 500 m2 and the new facility adds another 7 000 m2. The new facility is intended for production of compounds, but also offers an increased storage space for ordered materials for the customers.  With increasing sales volumes Polykemi China, logically needs additional space to store the customer’s materials - in waiting to be called off.

- This service is seen as a big benefit by our customers -especially within the automotive industry.

The increased space also gives security and flexibility for additional future efforts. In our current factory we have a production capacity of appr.  9 500 ton/year, and with the new facility added - we will be able to more than double this figure. We will also have an increased flexibility to produce both the traditional compounds of Polykemi as well as the Scanfill materials  – underlines Mr Lindahl

New materials in the pipeline!

With the establishment of the new facility, Polykemi China also gets the possibility to focus even more on the material that the subsidiary Scanfill AB is selling – focusing on the packaging industry. For instance a special clean room environment / department will be built up, where this material can be further developed & refined.

- We do have a lot of potential customers working with packaging materials for foodstuff, but than we do need to have a sufficient internal infrastructure, all to meet those demands and to be able to produce in accordance with the customers specifications.

The work to increase the marketing efforts of the Scanfill materials in China continues, and the forecast is to be able to present positive news during 2016 and we do strongly believe that the recent world launch of the brand new SCANFILL BIO materials will open new doors for us both in Japan and in S. Korea reveals Mr Lindahl.

Belief in the Chinese development!

The economy of China is predicted to be less expansive in the coming years. Do you worry about this within the Polykemi Group?

- I still see a bright future for us in China. On this market where most of our competitors decreases sales and reduces their production volumes, we will still place budgets in larger figures compared to earlier years.

We see an interesting trend where also the domestic car producers move towards higher quality of their cars. This means an increased possibility to also start delivering also to them. Generally you see an increased awareness & demands for higher quality for many domestic products here & this fact should give better possibilities to compete for volumes of Chinese brand owners ends MD of Polykemi China Mr Magnus Lindahl having celebrated 10 years of expansion in China.
