MSV BRNO 2012 in token of returning exhibitors
Three months are still ahead before the beginning of the International Engineering Fair, but it is already clear that many companies who omitted the last year or years before for various reasons are returning to the Brno Exhibition Centre. This is particularly positive because it is not just the return of exhibitors from one nomenclature, but this trend can be seen across the board in all branches of all organized trade fairs.
In the field of materials and components all major exhibitors have applied – such as Arcelor Mittal, Vítkovice, Union Ocel, Lenze, ZKL, NORD Poháněcí technika, Wikov, TOS Znojmo and others. New companies who chose MSV to present their products include PROMET Group and Dillinger Hütte. After ten years, Eaton Elektrotechnika s.r.o., a power generation sector company return to MSV. This year’s highlighted theme is a cross-cutting project focused on automation, that is electronics, automation and measuring technology. All the major exhibitors have already signed up, whether Mitutoyo Czech, Czech Group, s. r.o., Siemens, UNIS, KUKA Roboter CEE Gmbh and more. The hydraulics and pneumatics section also registers greater interest of exhibitors than last year. Companies such as Bosch Rexroth, CHARVÁT Group s.r.o., IMI International – NORGREN, STASTO Automation s.r.o. and other firms will be presented. Even though Transport and Logistics Fair does not take place this year, we also register a new companies in the field of transport, handling, industrial packaging, warehousing and logistics. After seven years, the company Expresso Deutschland GmbH returns , Obchodní společnosti KREDIT, spol. s r.o. will boast one of the largest exhibition stands while International Hardwares Trading Co. will present and travelling wheels from Hong Kong
The International Trade Fair for Machine Tools IMT will occupy not only the usual Hall P but additionally also Hall F due to the overwhelming interest of exhibitors. All major businesses in the field applied, such as TAJMAC-ZPS, Kovosvit MAS, TOS Varnsdorf, Alfleth, Trumpf, and many others. Also Erwin Junker, MAKINO, TOSHULIN return to the Brno Exhibition Centre, also PRAMET TOOLS or Tungaloy or Swisslube Blaser will again be exhibiting after eight years.
The International Fair of Plastics, Rubber and Composites PLASTEX returns after four years and all major exhibitors do not want to miss it – to name just a few, there are Arburg, Engel, Kuboušek, Luger or Wittmann Battenfeld. Compared to last year, an increase of exhibition space by fifteen percent is expected and it is thanks to new exhibitors - HAHN Automation, Istrex Oil, Polytex Composite, Institute for testing and certification and more.
The trio of metallurgy fairs, FOND-EX, PROFINTECH and WELDING was held two years ago at the International Engineering Fair and the participation of exhibitors indicates that they are satisfied with this arrangement. Relatively high foreign participation in the FOND-EX International Foundry Fair reveals Hüttenes-Albertus CZ s.r.o., ASK Chemicals Czech s.r.o., ŠEBESTA-služby slévárnám s.r.o. and more among the largest exhibitors. All major companies are also represented at the International Fair of Surface Technology PROFINTECH (e.g. Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH, Surfin s.r.o. and others) and the International Fair of Welding Technology WELDING features Fronius, AIR LIQUIDE, CLOOS, AIR PRODUCTS. ESAB even chose MSV as the only trade fair in Brno where they will present themselves this year.
MSV Novelties
Technodat together with partners, Evektor and Duratec present a flying F- bike prototype at MSV. It was designed using V6 PLM Express software solutions by Dassault Systemes. "The realization of the flying bike means not just a fulfilment of our boyhood dreams. It is also a twentieth birthday gift for our company, which demonstrates the enormous possibilities that today's advanced software tools offer the industry," said Aleš Kobylík, a member of the Steering Committee and Technodat Project Director. The Flying Bike should have all the normal features of a bicycle - it should be able to get to a place suitable for take-off on its own wheels and powered by the rider - but then also it should be capable of a short and coordinated flight. After considering various options, project designers eventually chose a multicopter principle. The main force required for take-off will not come from the lift on the wings, as in classic aircraft, but from the static strength of six horizontal propellers.
Professional associations invite to the fair
Partners of this year’s edition include the most important domestic business associations and professional associations in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and other fields. They support the Brno trade fair as the greatest opportunity for their member companies to establish business contacts. "The importance of this fair is undeniable, no other event is as crucial as the MSV," believes President of the Confederation of Industry of the Republic Jaroslav Hanák, who is most looking forward to presenting the results of Czech companies’ innovative efforts. "It is clear that exhibitors will offer a number of new products focused on innovative technologies this year, with an emphasis on energy self-sufficiency, savings and automation of production. Who does not hold the bar of innovative quality high, will find it difficult to persevere", says the SPD president.
Professional associations greatly value the choice of this year's partner country and the upcoming India Show. Manufacturing enterprises thus have a way to an attractive growth market opening before them, which they would otherwise have to trail for much higher costs. "The Indian market is very interesting for the association member businesses and the expected participation of 150 Indian companies is a clear challenge for Czech machine tool manufacturers," said Director of the Association of Manufacturing Technology Petr Zemánek. The fair will also include a Czech-Indian Technological Forum, focusing on Possibilities of Mutual Cooperation in Engineering, which SST wants to hold as a parade of innovative technologies that the association member firms can offer to various segments of Indian economy.
Associations that are the professional guarantors of specialized technology fairs do not underestimate their preparation for the fair either. They encourage their member companies to participate, because the term connection with MSV can bring them interesting marketing opportunities. "The FOND-EX Fair is a showcase for the foundry industry in Central Europe. Whoever means something in the field, can not be missed there. A the combination with the engineering trade fair? What more can you ask for than to have next to you a segment of the industry, which is strictly dependent on casting?" asks Josef Hlavinka, Executive Director of the Foundry Association of the CR. His goal for this year is to carry out a qualified presentation of the indispensable foundry industry for other industries, and other professional associations see it the same way. "Participation in the PROFINTECH fair is always an unquantifiable benefit of new information and transactions. You cannot sell or buy technology in any other way than through direct contact," believes the President of the Surface Treatment Centre Viktor Kreibich and adds: "Participation in the fair means you are not left behind. "
Automation leads to savings
The presentation of new products for measurement, control, automation and regulation engineering and the promotion of automation has long been the focus of MSV organizers, but with the onset of recession and the need to reduce costs, the issue is ever more topical. AUTOMATION as a biennial project emphasizes the use of new products aimed at achieving the right material and energy savings. Therefore increased visitor interest is expected and all of the key exhibitors already signed up in advance: Mitutoyo Czech Republic, Olympus Czech Group, Siemens, UNIS, KUKA Roboter and more.
"The great advantage of the participation of electrical companies in MSV is that we can present our products directly where they are applied. At this fair we do not show our products to each other, we present them to customers," explains the director of Czech and Moravian Electrical Association, Fratišek Hýbner. Visitors to MSV and AUTOMATION exhibitions can get acquainted with contemporary production trends and savings opportunities that they bring. The accompanying programme titled Vision in Automation is also a major attraction, where successful automation projects are introduced with the participation of leading experts, as inspiration for other manufacturers.
Enter your exhibits in the Gold Medal competition
Exhibitors with the latest innovative products discovered already long ago how their presentation at MSV paves the way to the market. Moreover, the most successful ones manage to multiply the marketing effect by participating in the prestigious exhibit competition for Gold Medals. There are only a few winners each year, but no one is defeated, because all those who apply can count on the publicity and increased public interest.
"For engineering companies, this is the most important award in the Czech Republic. We have prizes from elsewhere, but we value the MSV Gold Medals from Brno the most, because they really have a long term reputation," says Ondřej Tyc, production manager for Strojírna Tyc, who won already their third Gold Medal at MSV2011. The manufacturer felt the business value of the award right at the fair, where the winning machine gained three new customers.
Gold Medal for INCOE International Europe |
The new competition rules reduced the number of Gold Medals and they are no longer granted according to professional categories; yet not only engineering companies have a chance to succeed, but also smaller companies from other industries. Last year for example, one of four medals was awarded to INCOE International Europe, from a relatively narrow field of injection moulding. "We are of course very proud of our MSV Gold Medal. It was a great surprise for us because we won among exhibits from all disciplines, which is a great success for a product from the plastics sector," says sales manager at Jaroslav Staněk. In marketing terms, it makes sense to even enter the Gold Medal competition in his opinion. "My opinion is that when someone has something, they should boast. Even if we did not win, just the fact that we believed in our product so much that we had entered it in a contest gives the customer a positive signal."
