MOL Group is among the world’s largest energy companies

MOL moved forward 40 places on the Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings list in one year.

MOL made a great leap forward on the global company ranking of one of the most important energy information service companies.  The Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company Rankings list was published on 23 October and it ranked the energy companies based on their performance. Compared to last year, MOL moved forward 40 places, earned a ranking of 93rd on overall global performance. In its operation region, namely in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) MOL ranked 15th in Integrated Oil and Gas, and 33rd in overall performance in EMEA.

 

Since 2002, Platts has been ranking energy companies' financial performance globally, regionally and by industry sector. By today the Top 250 list became a significant professional classification of the world economy and financial role of companies. Platts’ rankings are based on four key metrics - asset worth, revenues, profits, and return on invested capital. All companies on the list are publicly held and have assets greater than US $4 bill ion. The financial information comes from a database compiled and maintained by S&P Capital IQ.

The Platts Top 250 recognizes outstanding financial performance for the previous year. Being awarded a ranking in the Platts Top 250 is an accomplishment of prestige and honour in the energy industry. Platts Top 250 Global Energy Companies rankings also showcase the world's fastest-growing energy companies, based on each company's compounded revenue growth over a three-year period.
