Masterbatch maker IQAP invests in Czech plant
Spanish masterbatch producer IQAP Group has enhanced its service to customers in Eastern and Central Europe with the expansion of the logistics capacity at its regional base in the Czech Republic.
The specialty chemical company, headquartered at Masies de Roda, Barcelona, invested in additional warehouse facilities at its plant in the town of Tábor in the republic’s South Bohemia region.
Today, the IQAP Czech s.r.o. plant, originally acquired in 2005, produces colour concentrates and additives for plastics processing with an annual production capacity of 3,000 tonnes. The facility covers a total area of 2,000 square metres.
“Our 1,000 square metre warehouse constitutes an excellent logistics platform from which we can provide a more responsive and comprehensive service to our customers from Central and Eastern Europe,” said the firm as it announced its latest investment.
Under IQAP’s “continuous improvement policy” the company last year completed a significant investment project at its main plant in Barcelona. A highlight of the renovation scheme are new facilities at the plant’s large, state-of-the-art R+D+I department, which “projects the company’s new, modern image” reflecting its technological developments, IQAP said.
Products from the Spanish firm, which has a second national plant of 8,000 square metres at Ibi, Alicante, also serve the textiles, cable and PVC sectors.
IQAP, which was founded more than 35 years ago, has a total production capacity of 15,500 tpa. The masterbatch group employs a 160-strong workforce and has recorded annual turnover of €40m.
