Converters are waiting for a better offer
The prices of “commodity” polymers were affected by the following factors last week:
- BRENT oil price 39.99 USD/barrel, rising oil prices
- EUR/USD: 1.1291, weakening dollar
- NAPHTHA (European) 228.91 USD/t, stagnant prices
- Ethylene (C2) contract price +60 EUR/t (680 EUR/t),
- Propylene (C3) contract price +60 EUR/t (630 EUR/t),
- Styrene monomer (SM) contract price +64 €/t (677 €/t)
- Converters think the price increase is too high, there were few transactions taking place in the past week.
