Prices for this week 21/2020
Signs of the June price increase
The prices of “commodity” polymers were affected by the following factors last week:
- BRENT oil price 36.06 USD/barrel, rising oil prices
- EUR/USD: 1.0895, strong dollar
- NAPHTHA (European 231.86 USD/t, rising prices
- Producers under maintenance:
- Unipetrol: April 6, 2020 - May 18, 2020 (HDPE, PP, C2, C3), a restart is expected probably in early June.
- Demand for polymer in May was “not bad”
- The likely June price increase is due to smaller advance purchases
